Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer

If you love to travel but do not only do so domestically, you may be struggling to find a hair dryer that can be used internationally. Many say that they can but do not have the proper voltage to back it up. That isn’t the case with the Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer. This travel hair dryer has a 220-volt option that allows me to use it in most countries all across the globe so that I never have to feel less confident in my looks while abroad. The dual voltage also provides a great deal of power, letting the Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer take care of drying every lock of my hair in no time at all. It didn’t qualify for Delicious’s travel hair dryer roundup but it was close.

Ionizer Built Right in

One of my favorite things about this hair dryer is its ionizer. The Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer works to emit negatively charged ions, and these ions are not only excellent in blocking hair damage from the heat of the dryer, they also work to eliminate static electricity. By taking away the static from my hair, I notice that my hair gets less frizzy during the day. Instead, the usual frizz that I experience seems to have been replaced with shinier, silkier hair that lasts all day long.

Lightweight and Small

Another important part of a good travel hair dryer is going to be its portability. The Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer has taken this into consideration and has designed this blow dryer to be incredibly lightweight. This makes it simple to throw into my carry-on bag on a flight or simply stow it away in my checked bag as it hardly takes up any space whatsoever. The Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer is also super compact as is, and when you add in the fact that the handle folds up, this dryer definitely becomes one of the better, more compact options when it comes to travel blow dryers on the market today.

Versatile Settings

The Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer comes with 2 heat settings and 2 speed settings. The first setting is a low setting that provides warm air and is perfect for curling or otherwise styling my hair. The second setting is a high heat setting that blows hot air at a higher speed than the other setting. The latter is best for drying my hair when it is damp. There is also an airflow concentrator attachment that helps me style my hair more precisely which I thought was a very thoughtful feature.

Cold Shot Switch

Once I have finished styling my hair, the cool shot button on the Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer can be engaged for as long as I need it to. The purpose of the Revlon RVDR5010 Ionic Travel Dryer’s cool shot button is to help finalize the styling process by setting it in. With the cooler air, it prevents my hair from getting dents and bumps in it while it is still warm and impressionable. This feature saves me a lot of time and frustration so that I don’t look in the mirror before leaving the house and see that I need to go back over it and style it again.

Multi-Product Review Focusing on Dog Treats

When shopping for quality treats for your beloved pets, you will be faced with many decisions as there is an abundance of products. As the proud owner of two spoiled rotten dogs who are indulged with treats daily I have purchased nearly every dog treat on the market and in this multi product review I will share my experiences and thoughts about several different treats.

Among the favorites at my house is Rachel Ray’s Isaboo Booscotti peanut butter treats for dogs. These little treats are very popular with my two hounds. The treats are small little peanut butter cookies that are apparently very tasty as my dogs will sit up and beg for Rachel Ray’s Isaboo booscotti dog cookies. I found these treats at my local Wal-Mart super center for less than four dollars per bag. I think these dog treats are well worth the price.

My dogs are also crazy for Pedigree Good Bites Multi vitamin formula treats. These treats are relatively new on the market. They are a crunchy small treat with a meaty center which makes them quite popular. These treats by Pedigree are a great training treat, and a good source of vitamins and minerals essential for overall good health for dogs. You can feed up to thirty Pedigree Good bites per day depending on the dogs size. I have purchased this treat at both Wal-Mart and Kroger’s for around three dollars per bag. I would also recommend these treats to anyone who likes to treat their pet with a healthier treat than the average dog biscuit.

Dollar General offers an assortment of store brand pet treats, and as I am on a budget, and one of my dogs is of a very large size (which means he eats a lot of treats…) I have tried out mostly every store brand dog treat they offer. While my dogs are not overly picky, they prefer Dollar General wavy bacon style dog treats above all of the other store brand varieties available at Dollar General. For $1.50 you get a generous sized package of a bacon style treat that must be pretty tasty, my dogs whine and beg for this treat.

I hope this multi product review helps you to make an informed buying decision the next time you are seeking out a dog treat that is a good value and good for your dogs. There are many choices out there and it is easy to become overwhelmed when seeking a treat for your best friend.

The KitchenAid Stand Mixer

I have owned a KitchenAid cobalt blue Stand Mixer for several years. I received it as a Christmas gift and absolutely love it! It is large and takes up a fair amount of space, but it is worth every inch of counter top that it uses (and I have a very small kitchen!) It is available in the Bowl-Lift Model or Tilt-Head Model.

I recommend the Tilt-Head Model. It lifts easy to remove the bowl and then locks in place when in use. This product retails for $239-$349, depending on the model you choose, but you can purchase it on sale for less.

Here are some of the highlights of the KitchenAid Stand Mixer.

  1. Easy to clean. The stainless steel bowl and all of the attachments are extremely easy to clean. Nothing sticks at all! You can even place it in the dishwasher to clean. Simply wipe off the outside of the appliance with a warm rag and it comes perfectly clean.
  2. 10-speed controls. You can slow stir or whip it up! There will be no splash out when you start to mix because you can slowly speed up instead of going to high speed immediately.
  3. Flat Beater, Dough Hook and Wire Whip are included with your purchase. It is simple to knead dough using the Dough Hook and it takes no effort on your part. My favorite and most used attachment is the Wire Whip. I use this for most every type of mixing. The Wire Whip is very strong and durable.
  4. Optional attachments available. There are so many other attachments available: Food Grinder, Pasta Maker, Sausage Stuffer, Juicer, Can Opener, Pasta Roller Set, and more. I personally own the Slicer and Shredder and I absolutely love the Shredder. I use it for cheese, carrots, and zucchini. It beats getting your knuckles scraped with a regular grater.
  5. Nice design and great variety of colors available. If you must have an appliance sitting out on your counter top, this is the one to have!

I highly recommend the KitchenAid Stand Mixer for anyone that spends time in the kitchen everyday or bakes a cake occasionally. You will love it!

Landmarks that Were Influenced by Austrian Kings

The lines of Austrian kings known as the Habsburgs and the Habsburg Lorraines have been some of the most powerful and influential of royal families in the entirety of Europe. The dynasty spanned six centuries and was named for the Habsburg castle where the individual royal members were seated. To date, historical linguistic scholars can’t seem to agree on exactly why the Habsburg castle is named such, but none can deny the potent effects these Austrian kings have had over Europe’s history. For instance, some would argue that the name derives from the German ‘hawk castle.’ Others still claim that the point of origin lies in the German word for ford, which is, in fact, ‘hab.’ References to the Habsburg dynasty can be found as early as the 11th century, but it was a number of centuries before the Habsburgs climbed their way up to the lofty rank of Austrian kings.
Due to their location, Austrian kings often benefited from being elected to the even higher office of Holy Roman Emperor.

Vienna

The Holy Roman Empire of those times consisted of almost two thousand widely dispersed and fragmented states and factions. Naturally, the Austrian kings had difficulty ruling with peak efficiency over such a patchwork kingdom, but the position also granted a huge degree of political and military authority reaching far beyond that of Austria alone.

While few of the Austrian kings are completely bereft of accomplishments, there are some who are more worthy of note than others for the marks left in the pages of history. Maximilian I essentially began the serious business of expanding the Habsburg dynasty by marrying Mary, heiress of Burgundy. His son then continued the process by taking the heir of Spain, Joan ‘the Mad,’ to be his wife. Their six children in turn ruled over not just Austria, but also Spain, the southern reaches of Italy, and various other lower regions. Then there’s Maximilian II, who acquired many more lands for the dynasty of Austrian kings, including the very grounds where the famous Schonbrunn Palace was built.

While the power of the Austrian kings endured and even grew steadily for many centuries, eventually the changes brought by the modern world brought with it a weakening of royal influence. The Austrian kings couldn’t last forever! Austria’s hold over other far-flung nations collapsed with the fall of its Austrian kings, and Austria itself became a republic nation.

Nesco FD-75PR 700-Watt Food Dehydrator Review

Nesco FD-75PR 700-Watt Food Dehydrator is yet another powerful model from a brand that has been producing food dehydrators for a long time. According to Amazon, over 90% people who bought this item were more than satisfied with their purchase, which is no surprise if we consider all the benefits…

What are the benefits of Nesco FD-75PR 700-Watt Food Dehydrator?

With a 700-Watt motor power and 5 large circular trays, drying food with FD-75PR is a breeze and takes only a couple of hours (instead couple of days). The 5 default trays can even be upgraded with 7 additional ones, leaving no room for scarcity. This is more than enough for a whole family to enjoy a big, healthy, dried meal. All the trays have a circular shape and can be cleaned very easily, as they are completely dishwasher-safe.

There’s no need to rotate the trays either (although you can if you wish to do so) and the flavors of the food don’t mix.

Nesco FD-75PR Food Dehydrator has a top-positioned fan, preventing the potential damage of juice leakage. All the food juices are collected in the bottom part, so they never come in contact with the motor itself, therefore prolonging its life-span. The juices drip to the bottom part of the dehydrator, making it very convenient to maintain.

Patented Converga-Flow® fan forces the heated air from the top to the bottom of the dehydrator, while spreading evenly across the trays and drying the food uniformly.

With Nesco FD-75PR, you can control the intensity and the pace of the food drying by adjusting the built-in thermostat. You do this by setting the desired temperature from 95-160 degrees Fahrenheit.

The cool thing about this dehydrator is the Vita-Save® Exterior feature which basically prevents and isolates all harmful exterior lights in order to preserve the healthy nutrients inside the food.

Also, when you make a purchase, you will get a free 52-page recipe book to get your creativity juices flowing, giving you plenty of ideas for your next meal.

What are some of the downsides?

Although not really a downside, it is actually funny that this great dehydrator doesn’t have an ON/OFF switch! You have to do this manually by plugging/unplugging the cable. Also, with dimensions of approximately 13x13x10-inch, this dehydrator (like most other dehydrators) takes up a lot of space, so it is advisable that you consider the ideal place for it before you actually make the purchase.

If you thought these dehydrators are quiet, you’d be wrong. While turned ON, they make a rather noisy sound as the fan heats and dries the food inside. This, however, is the case with all dehydrators and not only Nesco FD-75PR. The good news is that most people seem to get used to the sound after some time.

With all this in mind, it is still pretty clear that the Nesco FD-75PR 700-Watt Food Dehydrator is certainly a high quality product that won’t let you down.
